New Year - New Program 2008 PTQ Learning Project Information: Over the past several years it has been mentioned that new members join PTQ to learn how to quilt. None of us were born knowing how to quilt and we are always ready to be mentors to those wanting to learn. This year, we are attempting to extend the learning opportunities that have been presented over the years to include a Block of the Month form of instruction. Each month, a block will be presented along with information on piecing, cutting, pressing and construction helps in making that block. Each block will be 12" finished (12 1/2" unfinished) and will feature stars and pine trees for design. There will be at least 9 finished blocks that can be made into a quilt the size of your choosing. Pattterns will be available if you miss a meeting on the website. Information will be presented at both meetings when possible. Be thinking about your fabric selection - working all the blocks in similar fabrics or try the batiks if you haven't worked with them already. It will be fun to see the same block worked in different fabrics as we progress. Share your success and problems as you construct your block. Look for additional information to be presented at the January Meeting along with samples of the blocks to be presented. Hope you will enjoy the journey! Sandy and Jan - V.P.s
